QCPP has identified that certain pharmacies were negatively impacted by the implementation of the $2,200 (ex GST) flat fee structure on 1 July 2017 mid-way through their two-year accreditation cycle.
To compensate these identified pharmacies for this financial disadvantage, QCPP will be applying at $370.88 credit to their 2018-19 annual accreditation invoice.
QCPP openly acknowledges and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Following a thorough review process, QCPP has been able to implement a solution to simply and fairly resolve the identified issue. This is indicative of our commitment to continuous quality improvement.
QCCP is pleased to have implemented the simplified fee structure. Moreover, through our continuous quality improvement, we have implemented internal efficiencies and have passed on the benefits of this through a reduction in fees.
Why is QCPP providing a fee credit to some pharmacies?
On 1 July 2017 QCPP implemented a $2,200 (ex GST) flat fee payment structure inclusive of one two-yearly on-site assessment.
Since implementation, QCPP were made aware that some pharmacies may have been financially disadvantaged by the implementation of the $2,200 (ex GST) flat fee mid-way through their two year cycle.
As per the robust QCPP feedback framework, inclusive of oversight by the QCPP Impartiality Committee, QCPP has determined that the implementation of the flat fee model should only apply to pharmacies on and from their re-accreditation date.
Which pharmacies were determined to be financially disadvantaged and eligible for the fee credit?
To be eligible for the fee credit, pharmacies must meet all of the following criteria:
- Had a reaccreditation date or initial assessment date that fell between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017
- Received and paid an invoice for both the annual accreditation fee $1829.12 (ex GST) and the $800 (ex GST) on-site assessment fee associated with an accreditation date between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017.
- Granted QCPP accreditation following on-site assessment.
- Remained QCPP accredited for the subsequent two year cycle.
- Received and paid an invoice for the revised annual fee of $2,200 (ex GST) associated with an anniversary date between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018 and had the previous fee structure remained, would have been invoiced $1829.12 (ex GST).
Application of fee credit is subject to approval to ensure eligibility. QCPP understands there are exceptional circumstances and will assess on a case by case basis.
Pharmacies that have been identified as being negatively impacted will be notified by email by the first week of June 2018.

The compensation amount of $370.88 is the difference between the new flat fee of $2,200 (ex GST) and the previous annual accreditation fee of $1,829.12 (ex GST) affected pharmacies paid.
How will the affected pharmacies receive their $370.88 compensation?
A one-off $370.88 credit will applied to affected pharmacies 2018/19 annual accreditation fee invoice.

Which pharmacies were not determined to be financially disadvantaged?
All pharmacies whose accreditation year (year of their on-site assessment) fell between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017 were not financially disadvantaged, as the start of their two year accreditation cycle began after the implementation of the $2,200 (ex GST) flat fee.
Pharmacies in their accreditation year between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017 that paid an accreditation fee of $2,223.39 (ex GST) and then paid the flat fee of $2,200 (ex GST) in 2017/18, were not financially disadvantaged. In fact, overall their annual accreditation fee had decreased by $23.39.
How will the affected pharmacies receive their $370.88 compensation?
Affected pharmacies will receive a one-off $370.88 credit on their 2018/19 annual accreditation fee invoice.
Why did QCPP change its fees to a flat fee structure?
QCPP changed its fee structure due to a revision to their service offering, feedback from pharmacies requesting a simpler fee structure, and as a requirement to treat all pharmacies impartially, regardless of Guild membership status.
The QCPP accreditation fee is now a one flat annual fee of $2,200 (ex GST) for all pharmacies.
The simplified annual QCPP accreditation fee was implemented on 1 July 2017 and includes one on-site assessment over a two year period.
