Remote assessments & QC2020 Version 1.1

Expanding Remote Assessments

Since March 2020, QCPP have been conducting assessments remotely via the QCPP Customer Portal ensuring pharmacies can maintain their accreditation via a streamlined, flexible assessment method during significant disruption.

Throughout this time, we’ve listened to your feedback on the remote assessment process and incorporated changes to ensure the assessment process continues smoothly, whilst maintaining a robust accreditation model.

From October 2022, remote assessments will include a virtual video call with an assessor to allow pharmacies to supply evidence for a range of visual and verbal components of your assessment.

Quality Care 2020 Version 1.1 Requirements

QCPP is committed to continuous quality improvements and regularly reviews the program to ensure it maintains alignment with current pharmacy practice. The first update to the Quality Care 2020 Requirements (Version 1.1) is coming soon and assessments against the new version will commence from October 2022.

Key additions to the Quality Care 2020 Requirements include changes in Domain 5 – Pharmacy Serviceswith the addition of a new Sub-Domain for Digital Heath, developed in partnership with the Australian Digital Health Agency.

The Requirements review incorporates feedback from a range of key industry stakeholders ensuring its relevance to current pharmacy practice.

New Digital Health Sub-Domain

The new Sub-Domain: Additional Requirements for Digital Health, relates to activities associated with the use of digital health advancements, including, but not limited to, My Health Record (MHR).

Please note that the new sub-domain will only apply to pharmacies who are currently using My Health Record or those who aren’t yet using it but wish to be accredited to use it.

We are developing a range of resources to aid in understanding the new sub-domain which will be available on the Quality Care 2020 Knowledge Hub soon.
