QCPP CQI Credit Point Activities

Participation in specific activities will enable a pharmacy to claim a credit against the CQI requirement. Following is a list of these activities and the QCPP CQI credit points available:

1. Participation in a Third Agreement Research and Development Project - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each 10 hours or part thereof, of participation in the project, or one point for completion of an identified activity (eg. a survey). Each project manager will estimate the number of hours involved in individual R&D projects

2. Participation in a Rural and Remote Pharmacy Infrastructure Grant Scheme project (RRPIGS)- one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each 10 hours or part thereof, of participation in the project, or one point for completion of an identified activity (eg. a survey). 3. Attainment of PSA Annual Gold Questionnaire - two (2) QCPP CQI credit points.

4. Participation in Guild and PSA CPE or ACC&M CPME courses, or completion of an ACPP distance learning unit, - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each 10 hours of study or part thereof. (Up to a maximum of four credit points).

5. Participation in a National Prescribing Service Pharmacy Self-Audit - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point per self-audit.

6. Attendance at APP, PSA and ACC&M Conferences - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each 10 hours of session attendance or part thereof.

7. Completion of a PSA Disease State Management Package - eight (8) QCPP CQI credit points. (Includes Smoking Cessation, Diabetes, Asthma)

8. Participation in the Quality Care Pharmacy Program Support Centre "Standards Maintenance Assessment" visit - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point.

9. Accreditation by the AACP to provide Medication Management reviews and provision of a DMMR service - five (5) QCPP CQI credit points, or provision of a DMMR service only - two (2) CQI credit points.

10. Provision of a Medication Assistance Service (MAS) - two (2) QCPP CQI credit points.

.

11. Completion of the PSA Workshop for the use of consumer medicine information (CMI) by community pharmacists - two (2) QCPP CQI credit points.

12. Pharmacy Assistant Training (credit points claimed for pharmacy assistant training cannot exceed four per year)
a. Completion of the Certificate II or Certificate III in Community Pharmacy - two (2) credit points for each staff member who achieves either qualification
b. Completion of a suite of training from the Guild's National Training Course for Pharmacy Assistants - one (1) credit point for each staff member who completes a minimum of 100 nominal hours of training
c. Completion of the API Interactive Staff Training Module - one (1) credit point for each staff member who completes the full 13 section module.
d. Completion of 10 modules from the inPHARMation magazine - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each staff member who completes 10 different modules (restricted to a total of four (4) credit points per pharmacy per year)
e. Attendance at annual Pharmacy Assistant Conference - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point per attendee (up to a maximum of 2 CQI credit points per pharmacy per year)

13. Participation in Pharmacy Pre-Registrants' Training:
a. Engagement of Pre-Registrant:
- one (1) QCPP CQI credit point for a six (6) month placement
- two (2) QCPP CQI credit point for a twelve (12) month placement
b. Participation in pharmacy student placements, as per Years 2-4 of a university undergraduate course - one (1) CQI point per student placement (Maximum of 3 CQI Credit Points)

14. Completion of the most recent Guild Digest survey - three (3) QCPP CQI credit points.

.

15. Completion of a Quality Care Staff Training Course conducted by the Training Department of the Victorian Branch of the Pharmacy Guild - one (1) CQI credit point.

16. Attendance at the Good Health & Beauty Show, presented by the NSW Branch of the Pharmacy Guild - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point per attendee (up to a maximum of 2 CQI credit points per pharmacy)

17. Participation in state Pharmacy Educator training, as coordinated by the QCPP Support Centre as part of the Standards Maintenance Assessment (SMA) - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point

 
18. Completion of five (5) of the CPD sections in ‘Australian Pharmacist’, equivalent to 10 hours of study, - one (1) QCPP CQI credit point (up to a maximum of 4 CQI credit points per pharmacy per year).  

19. Participation in the Alphapharm Brand Substitution Educational Program - (1) QCPP CQI credit point (at least two staff members must have completed the brand substitution program to earn 1 CQI point)

 
20. Participation in the joint Pharmacy Guild, Gold Cross Products, University of Sydney and Department of Health and Ageing national research trial into the intervention of pharmacy in increasing the quit rates of tobacco usage:
One (1) QCPP CQI credit point for each pharmacy assistant and pharmacist who participates in the training to apply research procedures for the trial period. A maximum of three (3) CQI points are available per pharmacy.
